Translation No. 1 of Op. 87: Prelude no.22 in G minor. Moderato non troppo (D. Shostakovich) - Original Painting on Board

There is something about Shostakovich's music that generally evokes strong and primary colors in my paintings. Even those pieces that are in minor keys push me towards a level of visual sharpness and vibrant colors. My art has also been affected by the new, slower, tempo of life these days, with the Coronavirus pandemic and social distancing. I find that it is okay to take weeks to complete a painting, as this one did. The time afforded to me now to reflect has helped create art that is more thoughtful.

For all my paintings, I use professional-grade materials. The painting is sealed with a UV protectant, and acrylic varnish to keep the colors vibrant for its lifetime. 

Framing Options

Unframed - this artwork is painted on a cradled wood board that is 3/4-inch deep. The sides are painted white for a clean, modern look. It is wired and ready to hang.
