Translation of Prelude and Fugue in D Major, Op. 87, No. 5 (D. Shostakovich) - Original Painting on Canvas

There is something about Shostakovich's music that generally evokes strong and primary colors in my paintings. These precious, small canvases focus on bright yellow paint, the same brightness that I hear in this piano piece.  When I hear staccato notes, I see the small circles I've captured in the paintings. Soft, and comfortable, I hope you enjoy these on your walls as much as I have.  My art has also been affected by the new, slower, tempo of life these days, with the Coronavirus pandemic and social distancing. I find that it is okay to take weeks to complete a painting, as this one did. The time afforded to me now to reflect has helped create art that is more thoughtful.

For all my paintings, I use professional-grade materials. The painting is sealed with a UV protectant, acrylic varnish to keep the colors vibrant for its lifetime.
