Appalachian Spring No. 9 - Acrylic paint, Washi Tape, Graphite Framed Canvas
Shany Porras's "Translation of Copland's Appalachian Spring" is a contemporary, geometric abstract painted with a mixture of mediums on canvas. The artist selected media such as acrylic paint, washi tape, paper, and graphite. This 12" x 12" painting explores the relationship between the sharp, straight lines against the "hazy" background.
Porras states, "Many of my paintings are translations of orchestral music. For this painting, I translated "Appalachian Spring" to celebrate the rebirth of our nation at the end of a devastating global pandemic. The colors are vibrant and playful and free."
Porras has signed the signed and includes written details, including a serial number on the back. A certificate of authenticity, signed by the artist, is included once purchased. The stretched canvas is wired and ready to hang.
