Transition 1 - Original Abstract Painting on Canvas
This painting was selected for an art exhibition at the Mystic Museum of Fine Art April 19 - June 1, 2019, as part of the juried 108th Annual Art Exhibition held by The Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts.
This is part of a series of paintings I am calling "Transitions." In "Transitions" I explore how personal life transitions can be displayed abstractly by incorporating certain methods of painting. In this particular painting, the forms search for a resting place as they move through layers of glazed paint. There is constant movement in the brushwork as I outlined what looks like faces or heads looking up. The gold orbs symbolize the materiality of life that appears and descends throughout life, and yet is never truly incorporated into the self.
This work is painted with professional acrylic paint on canvas. The painting is sealed with a UV protectant varnish to keep the colors vibrant for its lifetime. Gifts and accessories of this painting may be viewed and purchased on this website link.
This painting comes gallery wrapped and not framed. The painting would look great as is or framed! The sides are painted black for a neat look once hung and the back is fitted with a wire ready to be hung. I will deliver and hang in the Boston/Providence area if you let me post a picture for my portfolio! If you have any questions please email me at Shany@Number5Studios.com.
